The New Fuso Truck Range Released in Ireland

Date: 01.02.2012

Murphys Truck Centre are proud to announce that the all new Fuso range has arrived. The new line up of trucks range from 3.5 tonne gross all the way up to 7.5 tonne gross and come with exciting new high efficiency engines and automatic transmission options.

What is clear to us when we first glimpsed this model is that despite Mitsubishi being a Japanese brand these trucks are designed for European use and as such many important design choices are evident.  From the seating area to the suspension choice and the new lower weight chassis, these are trucks that have been built with European drivers and EU legislation in mind.

Engine and transmission options.
The new line of Canter trucks come with three engine option ranging from 130bhp to 175 bhp. These are all Euro 5 compliant engines and offer increased fuel efficiency over their predecessors.

This is the first range of Canter is Ireland to offer a fuly automatic gearbox. Mitsubishi call this new transmission the Duonic. It is a fully automated Dual cluth transmission for trucks. The addition of this automatic transmission ensures fuel efficient shifting of gears and less frictional losses in comparison with a traditional automatic gearbox.

Three big advantages of this new transmission are lower wear levels on the clutch, electronic eco mode that selects the most fuel efficient gear shifts and a creep function for driving in slow traffic.

Chassis and Suspension.

The all new chassis is lighter than before which gives increased payload. for example the redesigned 7.5 tonne model has an effective payload of up to 5045kgs.

For the 3.5 tonne models there is now independent suspension which offers greater driver comfort and facilitates lower chassis weight than a fixed front axle.
