A growing line of our business over the last 10 years has been the provision of shunters to industry in Ireland.
Shunters are specially designed machines for moving trailers, while they look very similar to a tractor unit their functioning is quite different. Firstly, shunters come equipped with an automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox makes hauling loads in confined spaces far easier than would be possible otherwise. Shunter also typically come with an elevated cabin with full 360 degree visibility, making for a far safer working environment. Another unique feature of shunters is their hydraulically operate fifth wheel coupling, this enables the user to quickly and safely move a variety of trailer types without needing to leave the vehicle.
We offer an number of services for operators of shunting units and dockspotters.
Sales
We always have a wide variety of shunting units is stock, ranging from 20T - 45 T units, specific to a diverse range of applications. We stock shunters from the top manufactures such as Kalmar, Sisu, Mafi and Terberg. All our used shunter units come with a full warranty and are prepared to the highest standards.
Contract hire
If you require long term shunter use, we have a number of contract hire options. Contract hire enables the customer to use the latest units without having to make a large capital outlay. Our contract hire packages cover all eventualities. We keep replacement units in stock so any downtime is minimised. We also operate a dedicated shunter delivery service, so we can quickly supply additional shunters or swap shunters out that require maintenance.
Short Term Hire
We are happy to supply shunters at short notice for flexible periods of time. Often customers find that their needs are seasonal so year round hire is not feasible. We can cater to these needs and supply units when you need them and quickly remove then when they are no longer required.
Specialised Maintenance and Repair
We have much experience in the maintaining and operating of shunting units. If you operate a number of these units, we can help with their smooth operation. We can supply maintenance contracts and also ad-hoc workshop facilities to keep you equipment operating safely and reliability.
