Truck Recovery and Towing in Dublin
Murphy’s have been offering a Truck recovery and Towing service in Dublin for nearly 40 years. A lot has changed since we started. Traffic is heavier and faster moving, the trucks themselves have gotten bigger and more complicated, and legislation has also become a major factor in the towing industry.
We have changed with the times; our vehicles are diverse enough to handle all models of commercial vehicles and circumstances. We operate from a 3 acre compound beside the Red Cow roundabout. So we have instant access to the M50 and N7 motorways.
We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our operators live in close proximity to our premises so a quick response is guaranteed. Our fleet is the best equipped in Ireland and our facilities are second to none. We can offer a wide range of services to owner operators, fleet operators and government bodies.
Some features of our recovery operations.
- Specialised Bus and crane recovery: our Landol Travelling axle trailers are designed for handling tough jobs safely and quickly at lower cost for the customer. By using these trailers risk of damage to vehicles is removed and time on the road is minimised do to low preparation for towing requirement. We operate a number of heavy haulage tractors in conjunction with the recovery trailers, this ensure the unit going out to the job is matched specifically to the recovery conditions. For bus and coach operators this can remove a lot of their concerns regarding towing. Damage to delicate coach and Bus bumpers are a thing of the past, even on low clearance air suspension vehicles.
- Breakdown assistance: We operate two mobile units to assist broken down vehicles, sometimes towing is not necessary as a trained mechanic can repair many faults in situ. So for something as simple as a jump start to the complications of electrical faults we have the staff to sort out your breakdown.
- Urban recovery service: Dublin and many Irish towns are tight working environments of truck operators, a breakdown can cause havoc in terms of traffic jams and access for recovery vehicles. We have recognised this problem and it is the main reason why we have realised a one size fits all approach does not work for truck recovery. We operate 2 urban heavy recovery units. These units are high power short wheelbase units that can negotiate tight traffic where other recovery units would struggle to get through. This reduces afny risk of damge to customers vehicles and speeds up the recovery process.
- Truck storage, repair and inspection: We have a secure 24 hour monitored premises to store your vehicle after a breakdown or accident. We have enough space to store dammaged vehicles safely, and enough internal road for an artic and trailer to turn. Our workshops can repair and test damaged vehicles. We have facilities to store tractor units and trailers pending investigation or insurance assessments.
We Are members of AVRO (Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators) and RRR (Road Rescue and Recovery). All our operators are trained and certified by the IVR (Institute of Vehicle Recovery). All our vehicles undergoe an annual test carried our to RIES ( Recovery Industry Engineering Standards) Specification.
